The Pivot Point Cooking Club: Building Confidence, Community, & Healthy Habits
Step into the kitchen and discover a world of skill-building! Running Monday through Thursday, the Cooking Club is a hands-on program designed to foster independence, creativity, and well-being through nutritious food preparation.
Our journey begins with exploring health-conscious recipes that participants learn to prepare from start to finish. Each session emphasizes practical life skills—meal planning, kitchen safety, developing shopping lists, budgeting, and handling money. Participants put these lessons into action through real community experiences, including practicing grocery shopping and interacting with others in local stores.
Every participant can focus on the areas most meaningful to their personal growth, ensuring that learning is individualized and empowering. From planning a meal to preparing it with confidence, the Cooking Club supports lifelong healthy habits in a fun and supportive environment.

The Pivot Point Garden Club: Cultivating Skills, Serenity, & Sustenance
Join us for a season of growth! Running from March through September, the Garden Club is an immersive program designed to foster independence and mindfulness through the joy of nature.
Our journey begins in early spring with planting seedlings. Participants take full ownership of the process, transferring plants to the garden, managing daily care, and finally harvesting the rewards. This hands-on routine builds responsibility and life skills, all while incorporating a structured relaxation routine to promote mental well-being.
It is a true farm-to-table experience! The vegetables we nurture are harvested and passed directly to our Cooking Club, where they become healthy meals. We also cultivate wildflowers, which are dried and repurposed for creative art projects, ensuring nothing goes to waste.

Reading Club: Building Confidence, Connection, & Lifelong Literacy
If reading is a goal, we’re here to help it grow! Our year-round Reading Club supports participants in developing stronger reading, comprehension, and conversational skills in a warm, encouraging environment.
Each participant begins with a reading assessment to determine their current level. From there, we form small groups with similar abilities to ensure everyone can learn comfortably and confidently. Through guided reading, thoughtful discussion, and reflective activities, participants deepen their understanding of stories while strengthening real-world communication skills.
The Reading Club nurtures confidence, literacy, and connection, helping readers of all levels engage more fully with the material, their peers, and the joy of learning.
